Training program on “Cleaner Production/Technology Integrated Environment Management” Sep 27-Oct 01, 2010, Jaipur

FICCI is organizing the fifth 5-Day Training program on “Cleaner Production/Technology Integrated Environment Management” for capacity building of Industry Managers supported by Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF), GOI during 27th September to 1st October, 2010 at Hotel Four Points – Sheraton, City Square, Jaipur.

The training program is designed to provide the participants with hands-on training on Cleaner Production (CP) Approach and Methodology; Waste Minimization Techniques; Understanding of Environmental Acts, Rules & Regulations, Global Environmental Issues; Cleaner Technologies (CT), Operation & Maintenance Issues along with reduction in production costs and improved productivity. In addition, a few real life industry case studies on water & energy audits and performance up-gradation of Pollution Control Systems would also be covered in the program. The course would involve interactive sessions, presentations, documentary films, case studies, group & lab exercises etc.

The focus groups are the officials/managers from industries & other organizations involved in activities related to improving productivity, cutting costs & improving environment management of the company. Several reputed resource persons/ experts from various institutions including senior officials from MoEF have been identified as Guest faculty for the programs. Upon successful completion of the training a “Training Certificate” would be issued to the participants jointly by MoEF and FICCI.

As the program is partially supported by the MoEF, to meet the partial expenditure a nominal fee of Rs 15,000 (twin sharing)/Rs 20,000 (Separate room) per residential delegate or Rs 10,000 per Non-Residential delegate would be charged. The accommodation to residential delegates would be provided at Hotel Four Points – Sheraton itself. A discount of 50% is available on participation fee for “Small Scale” Industries.

Note: The last date for receiving nominations is September 23, 2010. Nominations received after the closing date will not be considered. As the numbers of seats for the training program are limited, selection of participants is at discretion of FICCI.

OECD/CELE conference: “IMAGINE! Exploring radical visions for tomorrow’s schools… and how to make them work”

Over the past 50 years, in an effort to better prepare society for the challenges to come, educators have been been crafting visions that challenge traditional models of learning and the physical space that supports them. But visions are not enough.
From 20-22 September 2010, Vienna will host an international conference IMAGINE! Exploring radical visions for tomorrow’s schools … and how to make them work. It is being organised by the OECD Centre for Effective Learning Environments (CELE), in co-operation with the Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture, Austria and the Vienna University of Technology, and with the participation of the OECD Centre for Educational Research and Innovation (CERI). The conference will explore how innovative design solutions and financing and procurement strategies can address current and future challenges in educational policy and practice. It will also be informed by reflection on different major trends influencing education and scenarios for the future.
